At Great Trethew Trekking, we believe that every ride should be filled with joy, confidence, and connection. Nestled in the heart of Cornwall, our friendly, family-run riding school has been sharing the magic of horses with our community for over 15 years.
We’re proud to be Cornwall Council Licensed and recognised as an Approved Alternative Provision Provider, meeting the highest standards of safety and care. Fully insured with Avid Insurance Service Ltd, we ensure that every rider — from 18 months old to adult — can enjoy their experience in a safe, supportive environment.
In 2022, we achieved Ofsted Registration, further strengthening our commitment to education and wellbeing through equestrian learning. More recently, we joined ABRS+, affirming our dedication to quality instruction and best practices in the equestrian industry.
You’ll find us just off the A38 on the B3251 — perfectly placed for easy access from Plymouth, Liskeard, and across Cornwall. Our 30 acres of private gardens and woodland provide the ideal setting for peaceful woodland hacks, free from traffic and full of natural beauty.
Whether you’re a first-time rider, a confident horse owner, or a family looking for a fun day out, you’ll feel at home here. Our qualified instructors offer patient, encouraging guidance, and we’re always happy to walk alongside our youngest riders to ensure everyone feels safe and supported.
