Woodland Hacks – ½ Hour £30 - 45 Minutes £40
On site we have 30 acres of woodlands and gardens so plenty of exploring by horseback. All hacks are taken out by a member of staff. We will travel through streams, woodlands, and gardens. Please note our woodlands do get muddy in the winter, though hacks continue all year round. For the inexperienced riders you will be accompanied by a member of staff on foot and a lead if required. When making a booking we will require height, weight, date of birth and riding experience of each rider. Our maximum weight limit is 14 stone as our biggest horse is a 15hh cob. Available to Adults and Children of 4 years and upwards and all abilities.
We are fully licensed and insured to provide riding for children as young as 12 months. We do find our groom and ride sessions are more suitable for our younger children. These sessions are adapted to the child’s needs. No child is forced to ride if they do not want to straight away, we are happy for them to groom for as long or little time as they would like. If they are not wanting to get on straight away, then we can allow them to lead their pony until they are ready to get on.

We can offer children’s and adult lessons. Due to Great Trethew Trekking being mainly a trekking Centre we are limited to the ponies and horses that will go into the sand school.Therefore, we can offer lessons up to a weight limit of 11st. Lessons are planned around your requirements and needs. We are also limited to the number of lessons we can take at the weekends as we offer lessons within the pony club activities and therefore this takes up time in the sand school.

Pony Clubs are available Saturdays and Sundays throughout the day from 10am to 4pm.
We will try and group together similar age or riding ability children.
2-hour pony club £30 at 10am to 12 noon or 1pm to 3pm
3-hour pony club £35 at 10am to 1pm or 1pm to 4pm
All day pony cub £50 is from 10am to 4pm
What the pony club is all about: - Our pony clubs are super friendly and have lots of fun whilst learning. Throughout their time with us the children will have experienced everything they need to know about caring for a pony. We will assist them in every step of the way with grooming, mucking out, feeding, helping take out and bring in from fields, tack cleaning, tacking up the ponies and general day to day care and stable management. We also encourage children to help lead ponies through lessons to build up their confidence and meet friends.
All pony club times include riding time.Within this riding time they will learn all basic knowledge building up to trotting, cantering and jumping.Their riding time will be within small groups, and we try to either rotate to woodland hack then into the school each week or alternatively hack and school on the day.
On weekdays we offer small group sessions to school children who are learning from home. These days will include general day-to-day care of the pony as well as stable management and riding. Like the pony club session above. These are available on a Thursday and a Friday morning, please ask for times available.
We are more than happy to offer other days if you have a minimum of 2 children to join.
We are now offering after school club for you to join us on a Tuesday, Thursday or Friday, spend time with your favourite pony or two. As well as grooming, tacking up and riding. Then helping put ponies out and sorting stables. This is available from 3.30pm to 5.30pm. Welcome to arrive any time within this time session.
Our one-to-one sessions are for children and adults who would like to meet and greet the ponies and spend a little time getting to know the pony, grooming the ponies, and mucking out if they desire before enjoying a 25-minute ride. This session is a private session for yourself and a member of staff. This is an ideal opportunity for the slightly nervous clients or those just wanting a cuddle session. Available any day and times to suit.
Join us for a one-hour one-to-one session on a quieter weekday. Spend quality time with the pony. Learning to tack up and groom. Together with horse riding. We are happy to support this through funding from your local school.

You may be able to claim back up to 85% of your childcare costs if you’re eligible for Universal Credit. For us this is children who are 8 yrs and above. You and your partner, if you live with them will usually need to either be working – it does not matter how many hours you or your partner work or have a job offer.
We also welcome childcare voucher schemes, such as The Childcare Grant Payment Service which is a digital service and is the only way in which students may use their Childcare Grant to pay for eligible childcare costs.

Package 1 = Pony party in the sand school. Your 2-hour time session will start at the stables meeting all the ponies on the yard. We will then introduce you to the riding ponies, which you will choose one pony to get ready for the games in the sand school. This pony will be groomed, plaited and hooves painted and glittered. We will then fit all children with riding hats and escort ponies and children to the sand school for group games on horseback. Rosettes for all children. £30 per child. Minimum of 6 children Maximum of 16 children.
Package 2 = Woodland hack pony party.Your 2-hour time session will start at the stables meeting all the ponies on the yard.We will then introduce you to the riding ponies, which you will choose one pony to get ready for the woodland hack.The pony will be pampered with cuddles, lots of grooming, plaiting and hooves painted and glittered.We will then fit all children with riding hats. Includes a 30-woodland hack for each rider.(Maximum of 8 children).Rosettes for all the children.£35 per child.Maximum of 8 children.
We can accept BACS, Card and PayPal payments.
We are taking a £5 deposit per person for every booking to ensure your session. The balance is then to be paid via bacs 48 hours before the date of the session.

Any cancellations made within 72 hours of your booking we charge 50% of booking. Any cancellations made within 48 hours of your booking the full payment will be charged.
Any large bookings/off site bookings/parties we will require a £20 deposit.
